The Files app has been frustrating people since 2017, and most of what makes it frustrating already has a fix sitting on your phone. Apple just buried it three menus deep.

This is the short version. The setting that stops the Preview app hijacking every tap. Why search returns nothing for files that plainly exist, and where to search from instead. How to move files on and off the phone without going near iTunes. And a table telling you which app to actually buy, if you need one at all.
