THE USEFUL TECH
🔍 THE USEFUL FIND · MONDAY DISCOVERY · ISSUE #016
👋 HEY, IT'S RAJA
I own more than 30 watches, and I kept wearing the same 3. Most mornings I'd open the box, skip past watches I was excited to buy, and grab whatever I wore yesterday.
This week's find is the app I built to fix that. It's the first iPhone app I've made, the beta opened this week, and you can try it before it reaches the App Store on 17 November.
🔍 The find: an app that hands you a different watch each morning
Full disclosure: I made this one.
A pick that fits the day
Wristkeeper is an iPhone app for anyone with more than 1 watch. Every morning it suggests one from your collection. It looks at the weather and at how long each watch has waited, so a rainy day gets a 200m diver on a bracelet instead of the one on a leather strap.
If you have plans, tap Work, Dinner, Gym or Travel and the pick changes to fit.
The number I never wanted to work out by hand
When you put a watch on, you hold Wear this today once and the wear is logged. From there Wristkeeper keeps the cost per wear for every watch: what you paid, divided by the days it's been on your wrist.

A $25 Casio worn 5 times costs $5 a wear. A $1,200 watch worn twice costs $600 a wear, and 40 wears bring it down to $30. Once that number sits next to every watch, the ones in the back of the box get very hard to ignore.
2 details I like
When a month ends you get a Wrist Report: your most worn watch and your rotation, which you can share as a short video. And your collection syncs through your own iCloud, so there's no account to make and there are no ads.
💡 Add your 3 most worn watches first, then the one you feel guiltiest about. Let Wristkeeper pick for a week and see how often that last one comes up.
📍 Where: the free TestFlight beta, from the button below on your iPhone
📱 Works on: iPhone
🎁 Price in the beta: free for up to 3 watches, and Pro is free while you test
How many watches do you own, and how many did you wear this month? Hit reply with both numbers. I read every reply, and if something in the beta feels slow or confusing, that's the best place to tell me.
Keep it useful,
